CiSDG has participated in the advocacy and implementation of the China-ASEAN digital economy cooperation and exchange programs

On the afternoon of November 11th, 2022, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang attends the 25th China-ASEAN (10+1) Summit in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

At the Summit, Premier Li Keqiang announced the acceleration of digital transformation and the implementation of China-ASEAN digital economy cooperation and exchange projects.

“To accelerate digital transformation, China is ready to work with ASEAN to further strengthen e-commerce cooperation, develop cross-border e-commerce, smart logistics and other new formats and models, and deepen cooperation in digital interconnection and digital transformation around the establishment of China-ASEAN digital economic partnership. China will implement the China-ASEAN Digital Talent Training Plan to train 1,000 digital talents for ASEAN countries in the next three years, and support Zhejiang as well as other provinces leading the digital economy in China to leverage their strengths and enhance exchanges and cooperation with ASEAN.”

This is the first major program primarily implemented by Zhejiang (Zhejiang University) Centre for International Studies on Development and Governance Research Centre (CiSDG), which reflects the national recognition of Zhejiang's digital transformation practice. The program design is guided by the central government and supported by Zhejiang Province and Zhejiang University. The project complies with the needs of ASEAN and international cooperation. The implementation of the project will be carried out through the cooperation of domestic and international, central and local governments, industry, research and academia.
