High-level Talents Recruiting

Zhejiang (Zhejiang University) Center for International Studies on Development and Governance (CiSDG) is a new type of think tank jointly incubated by Zhejiang Government and Zhejiang University. The Center is mandated to address such key issues concerning modernization as shared prosperity, through building a joint network of knowledge among the government, the industry and academia concerned, carrying out evidence-based researches, and to deepen the bilateral communication between Zhejiang Province and the international community. It is committed to becoming an international think tank based in Zhejiang, China with a special focus on Asia and a general service for the world. According to the development needs, the Center is now recruiting senior talents and outstanding young talents (researchers from Hundred Talents Program) inside and outside China. Talents are managed as public employees. We warmly welcome outstanding talents to join us.

1. Research fields

This recruitment calls for talents with expertise in the following three research fields: urban-rural integration and coordinated regional development, digital economy development and governance, and comparative study of Asian modernization.

2. Job requirements

Candidates should abide by the Constitution and laws of the People's Republic of China, have strong passion for cross-national analysis and learning, good ethics and professionalism. The vacancies and corresponding conditions are as follows:

(1) 1 post for leading policy analysis

Candidates should be under the age of 49, have a senior professional title, and preferably be proficient in English. Candidates should also have rich experience in policy-making consulting services, with at least 5 years of work experience in this field and broader influence among the peers. Candidates should be familiar with development and governance theories and practices in the related field, capable of organizing and hosting major national research projects, and able to lead research teams to generalize  knowledge on the basis of Chinese practices and wisdom. Candidates with higher qualifying conditions could be appointed as Qiushi think-tank scholars. One person, one method.

(2) 2 posts for Hundred Talents Program researcher

Candidates should be under the age of 35 and preferably proficient in English. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. from a high-level university inside or outside China with a professional title equivalent to assistant professor or associate professor in international high level universities. Candidates shoud be a young top-notch talent in his/her research field and has the potential to become an academic leader in the field. Candidates should be able to carry out independent research in the related fields.

3. Remuneration

(1) Salary: competitive salary than other top universities in China;

(2) Housing: Talents from both posts can rent the university teachers' apartments. In addition, if being appointed as a permanent faculty, the researchers from Hundred Talents Program could also apply for a talent housing at a preferential price.

(3) Start-up funds: Provide competitive research start-up funds according to the subject area;

(4) Office space: Provide office space with good environment;

(5) Team building: For those who are qualified to enroll doctoral students, the university will support the enrollment, as well as the recruitment of postdoctoral students.

(6) Other fringe benefits: Assist to solve the problem of children's schooling and social care, as well as spouse's work; Assist in handling household registration, permanent residence permit for foreigners, and etc.

4. Application

(1) Resume showing study and work experience from the beginning of undergraduate study to the date of application, focusing on the main academic achievements and the influence, etc.

(2) Diploma, degree certificate and current employment certificate.

(3) Five representative research achievements in the past five years (including academic papers and books in Chinese or English, and/or policy papers with strong influence, etc.).
