Chunsheng LI is a Ph.D. candidate in Management from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, expected to graduate in 2023. He is also a visiting scholar at the Zhejiang (Zhejiang University) Center for International Development and Governance (CISDG). He has published multiple academic papers in CSSCI or SSCI indexed journals such as Journal of Public Management, Chinese Public Administration, Comparative Economic & Social Systems,Academic Monthly, Journal of Public Administration, Journal of Gerontological Social Work, and Lex Localis - Journal of Local Self-Government. One of his papers was reprinted in full by the Chinese Social Sciences Digest. He has co-authored one academic monograph (published by Shanghai People’s Publishing House) and contributed to eight edited volumes (as a chapter author and editor) published by Social Sciences Academic Press (China) and Shanghai People’s Publishing House. He has also written four articles in both Chinese and English for media outlets such as Chinese Social Sciences Today and Sixth Tone.
His Master’s thesis was recognized as an Outstanding Academic Master’s Thesis by Jilin Province in 2021 and by Jilin University in 2019. He has been involved as a core member in dozens of national social science major, key, general, youth projects, as well as various provincial and municipal projects. His research primarily focuses on digital governance (including digital transformation and technical governance at the theoretical level), grassroots governance (with a focus on street-level bureaucracy and community governance), contemporary Chinese government and political research, as well as innovative governance practices in the Chinese context.
