The Seminar on China's Participation in the Building of the Global Governance System Held Successfully in Beijing

On May 13, 2023, the seminar on China's participation in the construction of global governance system was held in Beijing jointly by the Centre for International Studies on Development and Governance at Zhejiang University and Zhejiang (CiSDG) and the International Cooperation Department of the National Development and Reform Commission. More than 10 experts and scholars from Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang and other cities in the related fields such as international relations and international politics, digital economy and trade, climate and energy, public health and semiconductor industry attended the seminar and made speeches.


The seminar focused on China's participation in the building of the global governance system. Liu Qing, Vice President and Senior Researcher of the China Institute of International Studies; Ren Lin, Director of the Research Office for Global Governance at the Institute of World Economics and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Science; Zha Daojiong, Professor of the School of International Studies and the Institute of South-South Cooperation and Development, Peking University; Zhu Jiejin, Professor of the School of International Relations and Public Affairs, Fudan University; Wang Luo, Director of the Institute of International Development Cooperation, Academia Sinica, Ministry of Commerce; Ma Shuzhong, Dean of the China Academy of Digital Trade, and Professor of the School of Economics, Zhejiang University; Chai Qimin, Director and Senior Researcher of the National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation; Li Zheng, Dean of the Institute of Climate Change and Sustainable Development and Professor of the Department of Thermal Energy, Tsinghua University; Guo Yan, Professor of the School of Public Health, Peking University; Chen Wen, Director of the Office of China Semiconductor Industry Association;, exchanged views on the global engagement of their respective fields in recent years. They have also provided many insights on how to improve Chinese participation in the reform and construction of global governance system in the changing global context.

The seminar was presided over by Professor Gong Sen, Director of CiSDG, and Associate Professor Li Jia, assistant Director of the Center, and part-time researchers Zhang Ze, Jin Zhangfeng, Li Chunsheng and Chai Yuxi have attended the seminar.
